Woman Holding a Cat All cats and kittens are vaccinated and tested for FELV (feline leukemia) and FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), and if old enough, are neutered or spayed.

We will ask you some questions about your home and we will be glad to answer any questions you may have. Adopting a pet is a long-term commitment. We ask you to sign the KittyKind Adoption Agreement and we will photograph you and your new companion.

Most of our cats are in foster homes with other cats. They get lonely and bored without the company of their own kind, just like people. We try to place cats that enjoy the company of other cats in a home where there is feline companionship. But we do have many cats who would be happy to be the only cat in your life!

Regardless of how an animal comes to us, we provide food, shelter, and medical care. The animals do not live in cages but in volunteer foster homes. We usually know the personalities of the cats and kittens we rescue, so we can tell you which cat or kitten(s) might be the best match for you and/or the feline companion you already have.

Why? Because kittens play together, sleep together, and keep each other company while you are at work all day long. When kittens have each other to roughhouse with, they are less likely to break or chew things, attack or bite you when they play, or keep you up all night. Basically, they teach each other manners and keep each other out of trouble.

We will always take them back FOR ANY REASON. We will also work with you to place them in another good home if (after a period of adjustment) the adoption doesn't work out. You don't have to give them away, or take them to the city pound where they may be killed. Just call us and we will arrange to take them back.

Petco pet store (click here for directions) is generously allowing KittyKind, Inc to show cats and kittens for adoption in the store. The cats are for adoption, not for sale, but we do ask for a $125 adoption fee to help cover some of our food and veterinary expenses. For certain purebred cats (Siamese, Persian, Maine Coon, etc.), we request a $150 - $300 adoption fee.

KittyKind Volunteers come to Petco every morning and night to feed the cats, clean the cages and give them fresh water. The cats get lots of attention and the best of care.

KittyKind is an all-volunteer group. We have no paid staff. We all must work regular jobs to support ourselves and the cats so we cannot be at Petco all the time. But a KittyKind representative is always at Petco at the following times:

Monday to Friday: 6 PM - 9 PM
Saturday: 1 PM - 9 PM
Sunday: 1 PM - 6 PM
