COMMON HOUSEHOLD ITEMS POISONOUS TO CATS
Remember that feline biology is VERY different from that
of a human and even a dog. What may be healthy and helpful
to you can be deadly to Kitty. For instance, aspirin and
similar pain-killing medicines will kill your cat. If you
own a car, be careful that Kitty doesn't have access to
oil or engine coolants and lubricants, which smell and taste
great to your cat, but will effectively destroy her insides.
Many foods, too, such as chocolate and onions, can be very
toxic to Kitty's little system:
-
Flea
products or any products specifically designed for dogs
-
Chocolate
-
Aspirin,
Tylenol, Ibuprofen
-
Cold
medications
-
Rubbing
alcohol & high-concentrate hydrogen peroxide
-
Shampoos,
conditioners, hairsprays, hair dyes
-
Perfumes
and colognes
-
Onion
(fresh or processed)
-
Paints,
paint thinner, stripper, polishes
-
Fertilizers
and insecticides
-
Car
antifreeze, windshield cleaner, engine lubricants and
oils less than a teaspoon can kill!
-
Many
household cleaning agents, such as: toilet cleanser, glass,
tub & tile cleaners, laundry detergents, bleach &
turpentine, and wood and furniture polish
